Howie, Sacks & Henry LLP – Personal Injury Law – Ethiopian Airline Crash

Joan Vincent and Roland Rehhorn, the parents of 24- year old Angela Rehhorn, who died on March 10, 2019 on Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302,  have retained HSH’s Paul Miller and Joe Fiorante of Camp, Fiorante, Matthews, Mogerman to represent their family in potential litigation against Ethiopian Airlines in Canada. The family has taken the further step of retaining Mary Schiavo of Motley Rice to represent their interests in litigation against Boeing in the United States.

Angie Rehhorn 24

Angie was just 24 when she was killed: she loved the outdoors, and was just starting a new chapter in her young life. She had earned a degree in Marine Biology and Sustainability from Dalhousie University, and had recently joined the Canadian Conservation Corps to “live an eco-conscious life, spend lots of time outdoors, provide service to my communities and inspire others”.

Paul Miller says “we are heartbroken for the families who have lost loved ones in this tragic accident. We are collaborating with Mary Schiavo of Motley Rice, and its aviation lawyers, as they bring a broad range of aviation experience and knowledge to assist these families, investigate the crash, and work to hold Boeing and any other entities accountable for any negligence that is discovered. “We are hoping that this litigation will  protect passengers in the future and prevent tragedies such as this one from ever happening again.”

About the Ethiopian Airlines Crash

On March 10, 2019, Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 departed from Addis Ababa Bole International Airport in Ethiopia on its scheduled flight to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, Kenya. Six minutes after takeoff, the Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft crashed near the town of Bishoftu, killing all 157 people aboard. It was the deadliest accident involving an Ethiopian airliner, with passengers from countries around the world. Of those, 18 were Canadian. China and Indonesia took steps to ground the Boeing 737 MAX 8 in both countries in the immediate aftermath of the Ethiopian Airlines crash. The plane was grounded worldwide within days.
