Jim Howie was admitted to The Law Society in 1980. He graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. Honours (Dean’s List) in 1975 and from Queen’s University Law School. He is a former Director and a member of The Advocates’ Society, and a Member of Council of the Medico-Legal Society of Toronto. He is also a member of the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice. He is a Past President of The Toronto Lawyer’s Association, and is a former director of the Brain Injury Association of Toronto.
Jim has both chaired and lectured frequently for various personal injury programmes put on by the Advocates’ Society, Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, The Canadian Institute, Lexpert, Insight and others. He has lectured frequently on Automobile Insurance Law at Osgoode Hall Law School. He has also been qualified as an expert to give evidence on personal injury law by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice.
Jim has for over 10 years in a row been listed in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as a Leading Practitioner in Personal Injury Law, and has been repeatedly named to The National Post’s list of “The Best Lawyers in Canada” in Personal Injury. Our firm was recently named by Canadian Lawyer magazine as one of the top five Plaintiff Personal Injury firms in Canada
Jim’s practice is devoted to litigation, principally in areas of personal injury litigation, insurance claims and medical malpractice, on behalf of victims.
